We have all survived the first week of school! I hope that your child came home excited for 4th grade! We are already hard at work in all of our subjects. If you were unable to attend Info Night, your child will be bringing home a Tiger Trot packet this week. They are due by Friday. This is a fundraiser by PTO for our classrooms. The trot will take place during the school day.
I forgot to mention that your child is welcome to bring a snack for milk break. However, they are not allowed to share snacks with another student. They may either bring a snack just for themselves or for the entire class.
We will begin unit 2 in spelling this week. I talked about the homework menus at Info Night. We completed our menus for unit 1 together last week. This is the first one they will be doing on their own. It is due by Friday.
Our eclipse activities continue this week for science. The kids really enjoyed experiencing the eclipse outside on the 21st. We will begin with map skills for social studies this week. We will also begin doing some writing on the Chromebooks and take a few assessments. Reading and math started last week and are going well. Please make sure to ask your child what they are doing in those classes as it is different from teacher to teacher.
